Web Design & Production
October 2007 - October 2008

Collaborated with the Digital Media team to design and produce Get My Vote, NPR's first online social media project. This interactive public forum invites visitors to explore, participate and discuss the issues of the day that have the greatest impact on their lives and their votes. Provided design and multimedia support for the editorial needs of NPR.org's daily and breaking news coverage, including special interactive features, maps, infographics, video titling, icons, logos, and page design.

 

ABC News
Broadcast Design & Production
March 2004 – October 2007

Collaborated with teams in NY and Washington on all aspects of daily television news graphics design and production with primary responsibilities focused on World News with Charles Gibson, Nightline and ABC Now. Implementation of broadcast design from concept to execution, working both independently and as part of a design team. Special Events (ie. national political events, show re-designs, show logos, open animations, crisis coverage) were all part of this very dynamic and demanding assignment. Commissioned by the ABC News Washington bureau to design, produce and update a promotional DVD of all ABC anchors and correspondents.

 

Summer Productions
Multimedia Design & Animation / Senior Designer

With its core staff of multimedia producers, designers and developers, Summer Productions' vision brings the world to children and adults through fascinating and original documentary and new media productions that inform and reflect real life. Collaborated on the interface/design and production for a wide range of multimedia projects that included a series of educational DVDs for the Discovery Channel and Prentice-Hall Publishing Company.

Flash Development - Interface Design / Senior Designer

Visual/Interface designer for K12.com, an education company dedicated to building a comprehensive, standards-based curriculum and learning program. Working with educators and parents across the nation, K12 uses traditional materials and innovative technology to deliver a superlative academic program. Collaborated with highly creative team of information architects, systems engineers, creative directors and Flash developers under stringent deadlines to produce and implement the visual designs of the Student Administrative Management System (SAMS), a Flash-based application for tracking students, teachers and administrators.

Designer of Camera Works, the award winning multimedia area of washingtonpost.com. Worked with design, photo and editorial teams to visually enhance the understanding of the news of the day with interactive features and photo galleries. Designed and produced the Live Online chat area of the site. Created identity and interface design for this heavily viewed online discussion forum for Post writers and editors, as well as national and international newsmakers. Designed the company business card and stationery. Designed the first Newsweek site to appear on the internet. Worked with the Classified team to twice redesign this important area of the site. Colaborated with the design, editorial and production teams on three major site redesigns.

ElectionLine became PoliticsNow after a merger with Politics USA and represented a partnership of ABC News, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The National Journal and The Los Angeles Times. Designed and executed the user interface and all graphics elements for these political news web sites. worked with staff, editorial providers, editors, programmers and advertisers to produce informative and visually compelling content.

Created original interfaces, screens and storyboards for major multimedia productions that included American Express, Virgin Sound and Vision, Scientific American, Sony and National Geographic. Coordinated efforts with project teams that included programmers, animators, sound designers, video editors and marketing teams to create two award-winning CD-ROMs: The Wall: A Virtual Visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial; and One Small Square: Backyard. Both won 1st Place design awards at the New York Film Festival in 1995.

Worked with team to develop interface and to design and produce all screens for this educational children's series (ages 8-12).

Lead designer. Created all screens, while collaborating with a team of producers, sound developers and Macromedia Director programmers to develop and design original graphic interface.

Release date: February, 1995
Collaborated with design and production teams on a series of maps to supplement an interactive history of the air war in Europe during World War II.
 
Client - Sony
Worked with production team of producers, programmers and game designers to design and publish and interactive website that accompanied the pre-release of the movie "Jumanji" with Robin Williams.

Involved in all aspects of graphics design and production for broadcasts at this network news bureau. On-air credits include World News Tonight, Nightline, Good Morning America and This Week with David Brinkley.

Writers Guild of America, Outstanding Graphic Animation 2005 and Broadcast Designers Association (BDA), Design Topical Campaign, Presidential Inauguration 2005.
